Captain David Borges
David Borges, Jr. is a lifelong resident of Kailua-Kona with a Hawaiian family fishing history going back multiple generations. David has been recreational, commercial, and sport fishing the Hawaiian waters since he was 10. David’s sport fishing experience not only includes big-game fishing in Kona, but he has captained and crewed boats on the Great Barrier Reef as well as in Madeira, Portugal.
David is a licensed USCG OUPV/Six-Pack Captain, and is CPR and First Aid certified.

Kona Dream owners, Dave and Janet Andersen, are full-time residents of Kona and have been fishing here since 2002. They both loved Hawaii the moment each arrived in the islands (in fact, Dave first arrived on the Big Island in 1978, courtesy of the US Navy, on a submarine that anchored in Hilo Bay). In 2010 Dave and Janet purchased a home in Keauhou which started their “Kona Dream”. Their fishing teams have placed in multiple Kona tournaments, including being on the winning team of the 2017 “Skins” tournament where they won $194,100 with the capture of a 731.5 lbs. Blue Marlin. Dave, Janet, Captain Borges and crew caught a 607 lbs. Blue Marlin and won $15,090 in the 2019 “It’s a Wrap” tournament. Dave and Janet have big game fished in Oahu, Maui, Kauai, as well as, Cabo San Lucas, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Florida, Bahamas, and San Diego.
